From the organizers:: "Please join us in taking a stand against the war! Even if you can only stop by for a few minutes, your presence helps make a difference. Those of us who regularly attend the vigil enjoy sharing news and community with each other, and the encouraging honks and support from many drivers. Among other purposes, this weekly vigil serves as a regular reminder to hundreds of people in our community (those driving or walking by) of our viewpoints, issues and information - something they rarely see in the media. Bring a sign or borrow one of our extras....
7:00pm - 9:00pm Old Chatham: Documentary on a man transforming racial stereotypes in his town - "A Man Named Pearl"  Category : Race Issues "A Man Named Pearl" (2006, dirs Scott Galloway and Brent Pierson, 78 mins, AManNamedPearl.com... )
The film follows the journey of Pearl Fryar, a black sharecropper's son, who has risen to prominence as an internationally acclaimed topiary (flower garden) artist, and in the process transformed his community. In the poorest county in South Carolina, and amidst initial fears by neighbors that "a black man woundn't keep up his yard", Pearl single-handedly created an 3-1/2 acre garden from throwaway plants. His efforts have brought hope and racial reconciliation...

10:00pm - 11:00pm Wappingers Falls: Cable TV program on factory farming  Category : Agriculture / Food "Undercover TV"
A series on agriculture, food, and animal cruelty; broadcasting on Wappingers Falls Cablevision channel 21, every Thursday, 9-10pm and every Monday 10-11pm.
The weekly broadcasts are showings of DVDs about the meat industry, from treatment of animals to the food on our plates, and possibly includes pieces on the fur industry. They are filmed by undercover video cameras from across the US.
Each show does have credits if viewers want to get in touch with the producers. In Defense of Animals is the organization supporting this effort.
Warning: Each video depicts graphic violence towards animals.
