Rosendale: Talk on "Thinking & Organizing Strategically in Times of Jubilation, In Times of Melancholy"
Date : 7 February 2010
From : 3:00pm
To : 5:00pm
Category : General / Misc
Location : 12472
Event Description :
A talk by Ulster county organizer and writer Richard Grossman.
Organizer's talking points:
Why do so many great struggles for change not accomplish what people set out to accomplish?
Why are citizen groups large and small so shut-out of deliberation and policy-making on war, climate, energy, food, banking, health care, foreclosures, jobs, economic development... you name it...?
More from the organizer:"For starters, we need new, uncomfortable conversations about: our overrated English constitutional heritage, the USA's minority-rule constitution, law and economics as 5th columns in our midst, what the 'New Deal' and 'Progressive Era' were not, what labor and environmental laws are not, Earth laws & natural systems..."
