On the first Monday of every September, the Solidarity Labor Day picnic takes place to "... celebrate and honor working people." This year's theme in "Tax the Rich." Tabling from activist organizations will surround the picnic. There will be 2 collections to fund local running strikes; The Latham Holiday Inn Express workers, and the Mott's workers on strike in Williamson NY (where the organizers say there are "scabs" taking their jobs. Bethlehem Neighbors for Peace hold a weekly vigil every Monday. From the organizers:: "Please join us in taking a stand against the war! Even if you can only stop by for a few minutes, your presence helps make a difference. 6:00pm    Latham: Rally to support fired Holiday Inn Express workers   (8 September 2010)

A rally every Wednesday from 6:00pm until dusk, protesting the Holiday Inn Express, after the hotel broke their January 2010 settlement agreement with fired workers and the National Labor Relations Board. The original four month long strike, beginning in fall 2009, stemmed from the hotel firing workers for attempting to join a union, and subsequently impeding the worker's rights, and breaking a multitude of labor laws.
